Fulda-based JUMO GmbH & Co. KG was awarded "Hessen Champion 2015" at the Hessian Entrepreneur's Day in Wiesbaden, Germany. The specialist for measurement and control technology received the award in the "Weltmarktführer" category for its temperature probes for heat meters.
"We are very proud of being named 'Hessen Champion'". This honor is a well-earned recognition for our innovative strength and the hard work of our more than 2,200 employees worldwide," emphasizes Bernhard Juchheim, Managing Partner of the JUMO corporate group.
Temperature probes for heat meters are required for determining consumption in heating plants and must be extremely accurate as well as reliable. JUMO manufactures several million of these probes every year. These products account for 93 percent of the European market share; globally this figure stands at 75 percent.
The development in China during the last few years has been particularly impressive. Here, JUMO currently has a market share of almost 70 percent with its temperature probes. Bernhard Juchheim is sure that "this above-average international growth secures jobs in Hessen as well."
For Michael Diegelmann, head of the International Marketing department, awards such as the "Hessen Champion" are an important element in corporate communication. "Business awards contribute significantly to brand and image development, and are becoming increasingly important as unique selling points among competing qualified specialists." This is why JUMO has increased its participation in these corporate competitions during the last few years.
The "Hessen Champion" is the state's award for innovation and growth. Its purpose is to recognize companies in Hessen that stand out due to their excellent achievements. The award is presented by the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport and Regional Development, the Federation of Hessian Employers' Associations, and Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Hessen mbH. Companies can compete in categories of global market leader, job creator, and innovation.
From among the many applications, 10 companies managed to reach the final. The winner was selected by a jury made up of prominent representatives from the fields of economics, politics, and the media.
