After 24 years as chairman of the works council of JUMO GmbH & Co. KG, Thomas Müller did not run for this office again. His commitment and great services to the company were now honored at a ceremony.
In his welcoming speech, JUMO shareholder Bernhard Juchheim particularly emphasized Thomas Müller's tireless commitment to the JUMO workforce: "As works council chairman, you always had good ideas for strengthening the sense of unity. In this way, you have achieved a great deal for your colleagues." As examples, Bernhard Juchheim cited the "New Ways" team, founded in 1997, in which the company guidelines were defined together with the employees, which are still valid today.
The introduction of the annual jubilee excursions or the joint Christmas trips of the works council and the management to international JUMO subsidiaries also came about at the suggestion of Thomas Müller, he said. "I have always particularly appreciated our open and trusting communication," added Bernhard Juchheim.
Thomas Müller began training as a toolmaker at JUMO in 1974, was elected to the Works Council in 1990, and served as Works Council Chairman for 24 years from 1998. Throughout his tenure, it was particularly important to him that the goals of the works council were also achieved: "Even though opinions often differed on the particular path to the goal, we always found a compromise with the management. Particularly on the subject of training, we have achieved a great deal for JUMO together," Thomas Müller emphasized.
Thomas Müller also received great thanks and recognition from the members of the regional works council circle, which he co-founded. The new JUMO Works Council Chairman is Torsten Nebenführ, and Harald Kaib was elected as his deputy.
